Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Exclusion Criteria:

If you answer "Yes" to both parts of at least 5 questions, with at least one "Yes" in questions one through four, you might have PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).

  1. Do you have markedly depressed moods, feelings of hopelessness, or self-deprecating thoughts during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your periods begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  2. Do you have marked anxiety, tension, feelings of being "keyed up" or "on edge" during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  3. Do you feel suddenly sad or tearful or particularly sensitive to rejection during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  4. Do you feel persistent or marked anger or irritability or increased interpersonal conflict during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  5. Do you feel less interested in usual activities at work, school, or social situations or in hobbies during the week before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  6. Do you feel it is difficult to concentrate particularly during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  7. Do you feel particularly lethargic or tired during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  8. Does your appetite change during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  9. Do your sleeping habits change during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  10. Do you feel particularly overwhelmed or out of control during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?
  11. Do you have the following symptoms: breast tenderness, headache, joint or muscle pain, weight gain, feeling "bloated" during the week just before your period starts that disappears within a few days after your period begins?
    1. If so, have you taken time off from work or school due to those feelings?

Please inform the Research Assistant when you contact us that you might have PMDD according to the exclusion criteria.
