Search Engines and Data Bases
The web contains an astounding amount of valuable information. Unfortunately, as it grows, important material becomes ever harder to locate and undisciplined searches produce reams of false positive finds. While you can find hundreds of "search engine" pages, there are a handful of truly powerful unique entitites. The others are spin-off search sites that use the major engines or their data bases.
I suggest that you read the Search Engine Secrets of the Pros before undertaking serious searches. It could save you a lot of time over the long run.
Here is the Search Satellite, a shortcut tool for fast Web Searches. It allows you to choose among a dozen major search engines.
Specific links to these and other sites appear below.
I'm keen to find specialty search engines like Neuroscience Web Search because they greatly simplfy the process of focused information retrieval. If you have any to add, please advise me. Mental Health Net (immediately below) is one such engine.
