Funding Resources

What follows is everything I can find on funding sources that could possibily pertain to pain research. The first set of links will assist you in searching for a source. The other lists are generally useful links. The Foundations list is quite incomplete because many are still not on the WWW. If you have any sources to share, please send them to me.

If you want to start with a powerful, general search tool, choose SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network). It contains information for the US, Canada, Australia and the UK. This data base lists research funding opportunities from government and nongovernment sources, including fellowships, travel, research, curriculum development, collaborative projects, sabbatical support, and publication support. You can search by keyword, applicant type, award type, geographic restriction, sponsor, sponsor type, citizenship, deadline dates, titles, and text words. The keywords list in SPIN contains subject headings that you can skim quickly for selection of multiple terms. SPIN will lead US users to several other sources including a weekly summary of the Federal Register.
